Commercial changeovers are a planned shutdown completed in a day, with larger supplies kept live on a backup generator.

Do I need 3 phase power for my house?
Only if you are adding large loads such as an EV charger, ducted air conditioning, a pool, a large solar system or workshop machinery; many homes never need it. Tell us what you are planning and we will advise.
How do I know if my house has single phase or 3 phase power?
A single pole main switch in the meter box means single phase; three linked poles means 3 phase, and your bill or meter also shows it. If unsure, send a photo of the inside of the meter box, door open, through the contact page.
Do I need 3 phase power for an EV charger?
No, a 7kW single phase charger fully recharges most EVs overnight. 3 phase charges faster and suits two EV households or other large loads; we install both and can upgrade your supply.
How long does a 3 phase upgrade take, and will my power be off?
A residential upgrade including the new switchboard is typically completed in a day, with the meter exchanged the same day on behalf of your retailer. Commercial upgrades are a planned one day shutdown, and larger supplies can be kept live on a generator.
