ASP 4869 + Ausgrid + Endeavour Energy
Level 2 ASP Sydney. All of it.
Overhead, underground and metering, for homes and commercial sites across Sydney. We work the service side of the connection and lodge every network approval with it.

What a Level 2 ASP does
A Level 2 Accredited Service Provider is accredited by Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy to work on the service side of your power connection: the section from the network point of supply to your point of attachment, private pole, private pillar or main switchboard. A licensed electrician without ASP accreditation is not permitted to do this work.
The service cable from the street to your building belongs to you, not the network. When it fails or gets flagged, it is yours to fix, and that is exactly the work we do.

How every Level 2 job runs
01
Send us the job: photos and property details through the contact page, or call 1300 58 58 16.
02
We do a desktop assessment from your photos, with a free site visit if it's needed.
03
You get an accurate fixed quote, not an estimate that creeps.
04
We complete the works and lodge every network application, approval and notice for you.
House boards are a one day job. Commercial changeovers are planned shutdowns executed in a day. On the bigger supplies, the site stays live on a backup generator while we work.
The work we're accredited for
- Connect new overhead and underground services, residential and commercial
- Replace and upsize consumer mains
- Install private power poles and private pillars
- Upgrade supplies from single phase to three phase
- Disconnect and reconnect for building work and switchboard upgrades
- Exchange and upgrade meters on behalf of retailers, the same day as the works
- Rectify defect notices and lodge the NOSW that clears them
All of it under ASP 4869, with every network application and approval lodged by us.
Both networks, one contractor
Ausgrid covers the CBD, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, North Shore and Northern Beaches. Endeavour Energy covers Western and South Western Sydney, the Hills, Hawkesbury and the Blue Mountains.
Thorntek is accredited to both, across overhead, underground and metering, so wherever the job is in Sydney, it does not change who you call.

Got a defect notice?
Defect notices are their own job with their own deadline, and no network isolation is needed to clear one. Send every page of the notice to connect@thorntek.com.au or through our defect notice form, and we take it from there. Fixed quote, rectification, NOSW lodged.
Common questions
What is a Level 2 electrician?
A Level 2 electrician is an Accredited Service Provider (ASP), accredited under the NSW scheme to work on the service side of your connection: the service mains, point of attachment, private poles and pillars, and metering between the network and your switchboard. Regular electricians are not accredited for that work. If your job touches the connection itself, call us on 1300 58 58 16.
What is the difference between a Level 2 electrician and a regular electrician?
A licensed electrician works on the wiring inside your property. A Level 2 ASP is also accredited for the service side: service mains, points of attachment, private poles and pillars, disconnections and reconnections, and metering. Not sure which your job needs? Send the details through our contact page and we will tell you straight.
How much does a Level 2 electrician cost in Sydney?
There is no standard rate. A point of attachment repair is a very different job to a full overhead service replacement. We price every job as a fixed quote so there are no surprises on the invoice. Send your details and photos through the contact page and we will quote it.
When do I need a Level 2 electrician instead of a regular electrician?
Any work on the connection between the network and your switchboard legally needs a Level 2 ASP. That covers service mains, point of attachment, private poles or pillars, metering, disconnect and reconnect, or upgrading to three phase. Wiring inside the house is regular electrician territory. If it is on the service side, that is us, so get in touch.
Do I need a Level 2 electrician to fix an Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy defect notice?
Yes. The items listed on a network defect notice are restricted to a Level 2 ASP. Send us every page of your notice and we will assess the works, provide a fixed quote, complete the rectification and submit the Notice of Service Work (NOSW) to have your defect cleared. Email it to connect@thorntek.com.au or upload it through the contact page.
How do I check if an electrician is a genuine Level 2 ASP?
Ask for their ASP accreditation number and which networks they are accredited with. Thorntek holds Level 2 ASP 4869 with both Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy, plus electrical contractor licence 283038C. Ask us and we will show you.
