The supply is the bit that holds these jobs up
On a commercial site the lighting and the machinery are the easy part. The hold up is the supply: a bigger service, new consumer mains, a new main switchboard and metering, and the network approvals behind all of it.
Thorntek holds Level 2 ASP 4869 with both Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy across all four classes. We do the supply, the board and the metering ourselves, and we lodge the network paperwork. That is one contractor instead of an electrician waiting on an ASP waiting on the network.
Delivered: 200A services and main switchboards across commercial sites at Marrickville, Haberfield and Alexandria, including a multi tenancy building done in one planned Saturday night shutdown under traffic control.
Planned shutdowns, not open ended outages
You cannot shut a working site down for a week. Commercial changeovers get planned around your hours and executed in the window, and on the bigger supplies we keep the site running on a backup generator while the work happens.
Where multiple tenancies are involved, the shutdown has to suit all of them. We coordinate that across the tenancies and put the whole thing in one program and one price.

Do you do the general electrical work, not just the supply?
Yes. Lighting, machinery power, distribution boards, general power and tenancy fitout works are the core of what we deliver in warehouses and industrial units, along with testing and tagging, thermal imaging and preventative maintenance.
Can you power new machinery or plant?
Yes. Single and 3 phase circuits with protection sized to the equipment, and we confirm the existing supply carries the new load before anything is ordered.
Can you upgrade the supply to a warehouse or industrial unit?
Yes. New service, bigger consumer mains, a new main switchboard and the metering, all under our own Level 2 ASP accreditation with Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy. No waiting on a second contractor for the connection.
Do you work around our operating hours?
Yes. Commercial changeovers are planned shutdowns, not open ended outages. We have done 200A switchboard and overhead mains replacements across a multi tenancy commercial site in a single Saturday night shutdown under traffic control. Tell us your window and we plan to it.
What size supply can you do?
We regularly deliver 200A services and main switchboards on commercial sites, including boards built with provisions for CT metering where the supply calls for it. Send us the load and we will tell you straight what the site needs.
Can you keep us running while the work happens?
On bigger supplies we keep the site running on a backup generator while the changeover happens. That gets planned into the quote rather than sprung on you halfway through.
