Overhead service work we do
Everything overhead between the network's point of supply and your switchboard is the service side, and the service side is ours, end to end.
- Replace aged, UV damaged or undersized overhead service mains
- Install new overhead service connections, single and three phase
- Repair or relocate points of attachment, brackets and risers
- Retension low or sagging spans to meet the NSW Service and Installation Rules
- Disconnect and reconnect (D+R) for renovations, reroofing, painting and demolition
- Rectify overhead defects flagged by Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy
- Convert an overhead service to underground
Pole work too. Replacements and new installs are covered on our private power poles page. Going underground instead? See underground services.

The new service goes up, gets tested, and your power is back on. Paperwork lodged by us.
Every approval sits with us. You never touch the network paperwork.
Your service line, your responsibility
The point of attachment is where your service cable lands on the building, usually a bracket on the fascia, the wall or a riser. That cable, from the network's point of supply through to your main switchboard, belongs to you, not the network, and work on it is restricted to a Level 2 ASP.
A corroded bracket, a cable pulling away from the house, UV cracked insulation. That's how a service line ends up on a defect notice. Send us a photo before it gets there and we quote the fix.

Disconnect and reconnect for builders and trades
Reroofing, rendering, painting, a knockdown. The power comes off the house before the trades start and goes back on when they're done. Give us your booking date or the builder's program and we work to it.
Where the service mains stay live, we install tiger tails on your service mains before the work starts and remove them once it's finished. Where the supply has to come off, we disconnect at the point of attachment, then reconnect and test when the site is clear.
Call 1300 58 58 16 with your dates and we lock it in.
Cable down or storm damage
If your service line has come down or been pulled off the house, treat it as live and keep everyone well clear. Then call us. Making it safe and repairing it is our day job, and storm and damage jobs get prioritised.
We replace the bracket, the cable and the tails, test it, and get your power back on.
Common questions
There's a power line down or sparking. Who do I call?
Stay well clear, at least 8 metres, and report it straight to your network: Ausgrid on 13 13 88 or Endeavour Energy on 131 003. Call 000 if anyone's in danger. Once it's made safe, the repair is where we come in, with a dedicated, responsive team servicing all of Sydney.
Who is responsible for the power line from the pole to my house?
The service line from the network's pole to your point of attachment is the homeowner's responsibility, not the network's, and so is everything from there through to your switchboard. Work on it is restricted to a Level 2 ASP. If yours is aged, damaged or flagged on a notice, send photos through our contact page.
How much does it cost to replace the overhead service line to my house?
It depends on the span, the size of the service and the condition of the point of attachment. A like for like replacement is a different job to an upgrade to a 200 amp service. We quote it fixed from your photos and details, so send them through the contact page.
What is the point of attachment on a house?
The point of attachment is where your service cable lands on your building, usually a bracket on the fascia, the wall or a riser. It is your cable and your responsibility from the street through to the switchboard, and repairs to it are Level 2 ASP work. If yours is corroded or pulling away, send us a photo.
Do I need a Level 2 electrician to disconnect and reconnect my power?
Yes. Disconnecting and reconnecting your supply at the point of attachment is Level 2 ASP work. We do D+Rs for renovations, demolition, roofing and painting: power off when the trades need it, back on and tested when they are done. Call 1300 58 58 16 with your dates.
The power line to my house is sagging or too low. What do I do?
Low or sagging service lines breach the clearance requirements in the NSW Service and Installation Rules and need a Level 2 ASP to fix, usually by retensioning the span or raising the point of attachment. Do not touch the cable. Send us a photo taken from the ground and we will take it from there.
