Thorntek Electrical, Level 2 ASP
Ausgrid & Endeavour accredited

Level 2 ASP + Every approval lodged by us

Level 2 electrician in Sydney.

Central Sydney runs modern tenancies on supplies that predate them, and plenty of buildings are still fed overhead from the rear lane. Thorntek upgrades consumer mains, switchboards and metering across the city, works to after hours access windows, and lodges every Ausgrid approval in house.

Ausgrid runs the network in Sydney

Every connection, mains upgrade and service alteration in Sydney is lodged with them and approved before energising. As a Level 2 ASP we lodge the application, do the work and arrange the energising in one program. You never deal with the network.

Meters too: we are accredited to exchange and upgrade meters on behalf of retailers, same day as the works, coordinated with your retailer.

Common questions

Is Sydney on the Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy network?

Sydney sits on the Ausgrid network, and in the older parts of the city plenty of buildings are still supplied overhead from a rear lane. Thorntek is accredited as a Level 2 ASP, so the application, the works and the energising all come from one contractor.

Can you clear a defect notice in Sydney?

Yes. Ausgrid lists exactly what must be fixed on page two of the notice, often an undersized main or a low rear lane service in the city. Email the whole notice to connect@thorntek.com.au and we will return a fixed quote, do the rectification and lodge the Notice of Service Work (NOSW). Send it through today.

How much does a Level 2 electrician cost in Sydney?

There is no single number for the city because access sets the price: after hours windows, traffic control and how far the new mains have to run. Every job is quoted fixed before we start, so there are no surprises on the invoice. Tell us what the building needs through our contact page and we will price it.

Who is responsible for the power line from the street to my house?

If your building takes an overhead service from the lane, the span between Ausgrid's pole and your point of attachment belongs to the owner, not the network, and so does the run from there to the main switchboard. Only a Level 2 ASP may work on any of it. Ask us to inspect yours.

The power is out or a line is damaged in Sydney. Who do I call?

Ring Ausgrid on 13 13 88 first to report the outage, and call 000 straight away if a fallen line or damage is putting anyone at risk. Ausgrid makes the street safe. After that, repairs to your own service line, point of attachment or meter box are private work, and that is where Thorntek comes in on 1300 58 58 16.
