Most boards can be quoted straight from the photos. If yours can't, the site visit costs you nothing.
The photo we need
- Open the meter box door.
- Photograph the inside: the front of the panel, well lit.
- Leave the internal panel in place. Live parts sit behind it, and the door shot tells us what we need.
Already know the board needs replacing? Go straight to switchboard upgrades. Been handed a notice from Ausgrid or Endeavour? Start at defect notice rectification instead. For those we need the notice, not the board.

Is the audit really free?
Yes. The photo assessment is free and so is the site visit if one is needed. You only pay if you accept the quote and we do the work. Send the photo through and see what comes back.
What photo do you need?
Open the meter box door and take one clear, well lit photo of the inside: the front of the panel. Leave the internal panel in place; the door is all you need to open. If you can, add a photo of where the service cable attaches to the house.
How accurate is the quote?
Once we receive your photos and property details we complete a desktop assessment of the work required, and if a site visit is needed to assess it accurately we complete one, free. Then you get an accurate fixed quote, not an estimate that rises later.
Can I email the photo instead?
Yes. Email your photo with your suburb and contact details to connect@thorntek.com.au, or use the contact page. The form there takes photo uploads too.
